My mistake, the snipe was entered almost 24 hours before auction end. I only looked at the time, and it just happened that it was a minute after the time when auction ends, but the day before. Then it was deleted 50 minutes before auction end. Gixen edit works as delete + add. If you say that you edited and that it was slow, I can only guess that delete worked, but add didn't. After doing an edit, have you actually seen the new edited amount in Gixen?
That would explain it.
I submitted the edit but Gixen was running very slowly at the time so I got fed up waiting and and left it to do its stuff. I only checked back after the auction had finished.
Thanks.

It's an odd one isn't it. When editing the snipe amount, Gixen was responding very slowly.
The strange thing is that the snipe has completely disappeared from my snipe list. I haven't deleted it.

This snipe was entered more than a minute *after* auction already ended.

I've just managed to log in to my account after the maintenance period and the snipe has disappeared from the list!
About 50 minutes before it was due to fire, I edited the snipe to increase the bid amount.

The maintenance is of the interface not of he sniping engine(s).
Do you know if it was a Mirrored snipe?
Once the interface is back you should have access to the status values on both servers, those might give you a better idea as to what happened.

Post subject: Snipe didn't fire during maintenance period?
Snipe didn't fire. It looks like it coincided with a Gixen maintenance period.
