I was trying to use ebay.co.uk at that time, to set up snipes... and I could not get it to work properly... so I can confirm there were definitely issues with the Ebay site performance at that time.

uptownsue,
I just looked, it seems that around that time ebay had a problem that lasted for about 20 minutes or so. All snipes from all servers were timing out around that time. Sorry about that, there was nothing I could have done about it.

Hi. Thanks for the post. The item number is 271323316398. No, it wasn't a Mirrored snipe. Thanks...

joezapp,
The specific problem that started this thread was cleared some days ago, on November 18th.
What was the auction number of your snipe?
Was it a Mirrored snipe?

Had the same error message for a snipe that was supposed to take place this morning. Any updates? Only the second auction I've missed out on since June, but they are both recent, so this seems to be becoming more frequent. Thanks...

The "mirror" service is a steal at $6 a year. I bought it immediately on signing up without a thought. It's already saved one auction. It's just good sense if you care at all about your bidding.

Post subject: EBAY ERROR: LOGIN TIMEOUT (1)
Hi!
I was also about to ask the same question....
I've been using Gixen for many years now and did not experience the slightest problem until last night. Without exagerating, Gixen has *changed* my life....
Fortunately I decided to bid also "manually" yesterday night because the item I was bidding on was very important for me... It would have been a terriblly bad surprise in the morning.....
Well, I think I will start to consider Gixen Mirror..... Could be a case for a marketing school.....

I was just about to post an announcement. Corenetworks (Gixen main colocation provider) had an outage that started on:
Nov 17, 2013 16:38:16 PST
and ended on
Nov 17, 2013 18:41:52 PST
All snipes triggered from Gixen main server during this time period failed with login timeout. Gixen mirror server was not affected by this.
The service has since been fully restored. My apologies to affected users.

Post subject: EBAY ERROR: LOGIN TIMEOUT (1)
Hi,
I love using gixen, thanks. Two items I was trying to get today ended with the code EBAY ERROR: LOGIN TIMEOUT (1). They are item #'s 181258966942 and 181258928373. I have some other auctions I'm bidding on and I'm worried I will get the same code, any suggestions?
