Hello, I run windows 7 64 bit and was having ALL kinds of issues with Gixen after using it a few times. Socket error, cant add item and Gixen generally freezing up on my desktop. It got so frustrating I was searching for alternative sniping software/sites, but I really like Gixen desktop!! Thanks to the forums I was able to fix the issue, I just click on the exe and ran the windows compatibility tool as someone suggested, and all is well! Thanks everyone for your suggestions, and Mario for making this awesome tool. Now I just hope I don't win ALL those snipes I have set up or I could be in trouble
same here! gixen had socket error and was not refreshing after adding an item. only restart of the gdm made it visible.... I even tried to get these open ssh for 64bit systems - no effect. XP comatibilty mode solves it! great, thank you veryvery much!

I had the same problem with Socket Errors. Before mucking about with adding/removing software or .dlls, I recommend right clicking GDM and selecting XP compatibility. Worked for me. (Win7 Ult).
That fixed it for me. Running Windows 7 Pro.
The above worked for me as well. I'm running Windows 8.1 and I run the program in Windows XP (Service Pack 3) Compatibility Mode.

The .dll files that come in the zip file are the OpenSSL interface that the GDM uses.
Since that communication is not working Mario is suggesting that you do not use the OpenSSL interface that he supplied in the ,dll files, so you need to remove them... but you still need the interface so you then need to install OpenSSL on your computer... hopefully the version that you install will work better than the version that Mario supplied.

BTW, nice prog so far. 1st use. Waiting for results. Fingers crossed.

It's likely a compatibility issue. The dlls I provided with GDM are good for most Windows versions, but in some cases they don't work, either because dlls are not the best ones for your version of windows, or because some additional settings are required. Installing the appropriate version of OpenSSL for Windows usually solves this problem.

I suppose you are referring to GDM?
Try deleting all dll files from GDM directory and install openssl for windows from scratch for your version of Windows. That should resolve the issue.
