slpcorner,
It is the amount of time before the auction ends that the Gixen server places your bid on the auction with ebay.
Since Gixen has two servers that each place the bid independently there are two settings, one for each of the servers.

Post subject: BID OFFSET
Is there someplace here that explains exactly what "offset" is? I'm just lost about that and don't have a clue.

If it were generally agreed that there was a 'best' configuration then it wouldn't be an option for you to choose, everyone would have that option.
So there are advantages and disadvantages to all setting configurations.
Personally I prefer higher offset settings on both servers to gain best advantage of the bid increment rule while remaining too late for manual reactions to my bid... that works best for me and the type of items I take an interest in buying... but it may not be right for you.

Post subject: bid offset
I just bought the Mirror service. Is there any advantage to having the Chicago offset set to 6 sec and the Miami offset set to 3 sec or visa versa? What is the best way to take advantage of this feature?
