I am a first time Linux user, though very experienced with Windows. I'm trying to run the GDM under WINE, and it tells me it can't load the ssl library. I can dl this no problems, but I have no idea where to put it or, indeed, how to even navigate to where I need to be. The system file naming system (if in fact there is one) blows my mind. Any helpers out there? If this has been covered I'm sorry, I couldn't find it. (I would love an index for the forum. Mario?).And, again, thank you for an excellent product.
Create a new folder on the desktop or the Home folder.
Label it Gixen.
Download Gixen desktop.
Open the folder you created.
Open the Gixen file with whatever software you use for compressed files.
Drag all of the Gixen files in to the folder you created.
Right click on " GixenDesktopManager.exe" and select open with wine as default.
You may get a couple of image load failure messages, just close them. They do not effect how Gixen will run.

Post subject: autosnipe
Also, when I use the autosnipe in Chrome, it comes up with my id and password already filled in. However, if I do not manually redo these it tells me that ebay has refused my password. I'm just curious about why this might be. I presume it is getting this info from cookies somewhere, and they (the cookies) log me in to ebay no problems. So why won't they log me in to Gixen?

Post subject: linux recap
I finally got it running - using Play On Linux. It's a bit of a runaround to get it going initially, this is because it doesn't actually install - it just runs. I seem to recall a post about an installer somewhere - is this still in the wings?

On Windows, dlls are supposed to be located in the working directory of the app (GixenDesktopManager.exe). How you make it work under wine on linux - I don't really know, haven't used it in a long long time. It's not certain that it's possible.
