Yes, as Mario says that is a very different issue... eBay will only accept a bid that is at least one bid increment above the current auction price.
In this case it would make no difference what your offset was because the price was above one increment below your bid well before the auction ended...
However, in some cases, when the price rises within the last few seconds of the auction, the offset can make a difference... an earlier bid is more likely to be accepted in these cases and is why I recommend an offset that is higher than the default of 6 seconds and not lower... Over many auctions I find that to be a more successful strategy than trying to be the last bid and finding that more often a bid that is higher than the eventual selling price is rejected by eBay. |

bcmicro,
This time your bid did not meet ebay minimum increment requirement. Winning bid was 31.01 and your maximum bid was 31.99, which is insufficient.
If you clicked on that "Why did I lose this auction?" link you would have seen a popup that explains this.
Changing your password again was unnecessary, it had nothing to do with this. |

I changed my password again to see if that was the issue. After trying to login to Gixen it still took my old password. It took about 5 minutes and then my new password worked on Gixen. |

|
Hi Mark,
this is the message "BID UNDER ASKING PRICE
Why did I lose this auction? "
I have received these messages beifore when my bid was lower but this time I was the highest bidder..
on the left side I see the offest is at 3 -- I believe that the problems started occuring when I changed that option from the default 6.
nevertheless, I am having issues and it is not working even after I had changed the password.

I see you say that 'bids are ignored', but what do you mean by this?... I mean what is the status that Gixen is giving the auctions when they are finished? |

|
Hi Mario,
I did change the password and now when I bid it ignores my bids and
when the auction ends instead of winning for example auction #170867432242 -- my bid was higher but was bypassed and I did not win the auction.
- so I did change the password
-now I am have a different issue my bids are ignored..
- I had stated before that all the issues started once I had changed the
timing from 6 seconds to 3
since then I have been having issues, that said I also had the mirro program but nothing helps and the issue cannot be resolved by a change of password as you had thought would resolve the issue.
So sorry about this and I really appreciate your prompt and patient responses. I just want to know if I should just bid manually and give up since I am losing on all my auctions..

bcmicro, I am not sure it's the password - I don't really know what the problem is, but I would change the password anyway. |

The same would happen if you had changed your eBay name... but I see from your first post that you have not done that either.
What Mario sees in his logs will indicate that the problem is that eBay is acting as if the password is wrong when Gixen tries to log in to your account to place the bid. That doesn't necessarily mean that you entered it wrong, but it does mean that what Gixen is supplying to eBay is not being accepted as your credentials by eBay. |

It is strange that it was fine all along and the problem just started now.
I used the same password and it always went through.
Are you sure it is the password? |

bcmicro,
According to logs, ebay reported incorrect password without a doubt. I believe you that it's a good password, but something is wrong nevertheless. I suggest that you change your password at ebay and select a very strong one (8 characters or more, both letters and number, no dictionary words or names, no numbers or letters in sequence).
You will have to login to Gixen with your new password and re-enter all your scheduled snipes. |

|
It just happened again.
I have no problem logging in to ebay nor do I have a problem with clicking on the auction on your site to the right.
The only thing I can think of is, that I had changed the bid to 3 seconds instead of 6 and that's when all the problems occured.
Should I change it back? There is no issues of logging into your site or ebay - I wonder why this is happening? |

While this happens rarely, it's possible that ebay had a glitch preventing login, and that then Gixen recognized this as failed login, and canceled subsequent bids. I would re-instate your bids and see if it happens again. |

I have received the canceled message on all my auctions recently. I have not changed my user name or password. I am still able to login to the Gixen and Ebay sites without issue, except the bids are not working.
Please advise. |
