Yes, unfortunately your strategy does not work, because, as I said, eBay won't accept the bid while the BIN is still active... It is advisable always to set snipes below the BIN price for this reason... or just buy it for the BIN amount if you think that it will sell for that or more. It is possible that the warning system here on Gixen is no longer working, Mario will need to look into that.
No kidding?
I did not know that. I don't remember getting a warning, but I'm sure you know the system better than me!
That kind of surprises me, I have seen clothing go for almost exactly what the BIN was, but at the same time the bid that won it was three dollars higher than the minimum bid. I figured I would do $301 to ensure I got the suit, with the chance of paying a lot less.

Ah I see, eBay will not allow you to bid more than the Buy It Now price.
The Buy It Now is gone now because a later bid that was lower than the Buy It Now price was accepted.
You should have received a warning that this might happen when you set up the snipe.

What was the status that Gixen gave the snipe after the auction had finished?
Was the snipe Mirrored?... If so what status did the Mirror give this snipe?

Post subject: Snipe did not go through?
I made a snipe on an item for $301.07, and the suit ended up selling for $203. Why did my snipe not go through?
Ebay item # 280861271281
