Absolutely, ebay proxy will still raise your bid only up to amount needed to win.

Okay i think i understand, thanks. So say i put in a bid on gixen of 50.00 and the current highest bid on ebay is 5.00, does that work in increments too and i wont have to pay the full 50.00?

No, you did everything fine, but your bid was not accepted by ebay due to bid increment requirement. It's not enough that your bid is higher, it has to be higher for a certain increment.
Google for ebay bid increments and you will find a page that explains this.

Post subject: Gixen Didnt Bid
This is my first time using Gixen. I scheduled a bid for 2.25, 2.20 was currently the highest. In the end it didnt work, Gixen said the bid was under asking price yet the eBay auction said the bid was won at 2.20. Whats going on here? Is this a problem on gixen or my part?
