Found them. In both cases it says:
"Dieses Angebot wurde vom Verkaufer beendet, da der Artikel nicht mehr verfugbar ist.".
(This offer was terminated by the seller, since the product is no longer available.)
I'll add handling for this case, so that unknown error no longer occurs, and that group bids are not subsequently canceled. |

None of these has been entered into Gixen in the last month or so, I just checked. Provide me with your username and I'll search by that. |

Thanks, NewGuy, I didn't know you could do that.
So I've searched and found two items, both of which I had on my watched items list. I know that's not the same as on my Gixen list... but one of these two caused the cancellation, the "unknown error".
Here are the item numbers:
170731377808
230704872780
I hope they help get to grips with the problem. |

If you remember the general title of the item you were watching, you can search the same / similar terms and only look for "completed listings", it shows all listings that ended in the near past, regardless of if they were bought or not. The ID numbers of each listing on shown on the page, so you just need to find the ones you were looking at previously |

No, it's not a contingency group. When an "unknown error" happens, Gixen doesn't understand what happened, and since it doesn't know whether that was a win or not, it does the safest possible thing - cancels the remaining snipes in a group.
That's why I constantly update the engine to minimize the number of "unknown" errors. Let me know what the item id is and I'll fix it. |

Sorry! but no, I don't know the number any more.
The interesting thing is, this is the second time in the last week (or maybe the last ten days).
On both occasions, the cause was the same; a retracted item cancelled everything in the group. |

Do you still know the auction number of the snipe that had the 'unknown error'? |

I just read on the FAQs about "contingency groups".
I realised that my group is behaving exactly like a contingency group.
But that's not what I wish.
And I never changed any settings.
Maybe it helps.

Hello team,
Great work!
I'm a long-term user of Gixen.
But I think I've discovered a bug.
All the items in my group were cancelled because one of the items was removed from eBay by the seller (allowed by eBay when there are no bids, as you probably know).
Gixen showed an unknown error.
For each remaining item I needed to click on "Edit" and then on "Modify".
I sorted it out, but you probably need to look into it.
Good luck! |
