The ad clearly says no international shipping, not available to Alaska/Hawaii. This is common on heavy stuff that cost more to ship than its worth. Sellers block buyers whose primary address is in a location they do not want to ship to. International buyers registered in their home country often use a US Primary forwarding address. If you had won they could have reported you as a buyer who bid on a listing without meeting the listing terms. The correct thing to do in a situation like this is to email the seller and explain how they can ship it to you at your expense, before the auction has ended. Restrictions allow sellers to sell there stuff at the highest price, with the least amount of hassel.
Post subject: Email sellers
I looked at the ad before I answered the first time. Email has not been disabled on that item. Why didn't you just email them?
I am betting this was a case of user error.

Its very annoying when sellers don't allow contact via eBay. I find myself in situations like your's and I too have found no way around it.

Even though the message from eBay says it is the shipping address that is restricted, eBay use the registration address when blocking bids.

Post subject: Restricted auctions
If the seller tells eBay to block your country, eBay will block it unless you have the seller lift the restriction for you, or you will have to place the bid from an account registered in a country that is not restricted. Gixen will send your bid to eBay at the scheduled time. It is eBay that does the restricting at the sellers request. Why didn't you email the seller before the auction ended?

Post subject: ACTION RESTRICTED: SHIPPING ADDRESS COUNTRY RESTRICTED...!
ITEM # 160680366782..
I'm really pissed off as i was trying to buy an item available for US shipping only, yet the seller had no way of being contacted. I had organised for my cousin in the states to receive the goods and then ship them to me in Australia. can i not even bid on these items using Gixen. How is my bid being blocked! Is there anyway of informing potential sellers that i may be in Australia - but am only looking for US shipping?
thanx for your help..
