I have no issue replying. I freely admit I am biased, I like Gixen.. I did say I was not qualified to criticise other services and I don't intend to now... but I think it is a bit unfair to say that I just made assumptions. There are some services that have closed, obviously you can't find those now, they have gone. Not a majority perhaps, I don't know, I only know about the ones I have looked at over the years and that is not nearly all of them I am sure. Yes there are now many services out there, and I agree each must have a user base that they appeal to otherwise they too would disappear. I was really trying to highlight that the categories Mario chose for comparison should perhaps be extended if he does consider extending that page to cover more sites. But some are hard to research, some others that are not so hard may be the date the domain was registered (though that is not even necessarly a good measure of how long they have operated a sniping service, as in the case of Goofbay which I do know the most about) and how much internet traffic the site attracts. For goofbay you can judge for yourself from their forum how good their sniping service is and how well their support deals with the issues. There may be better sites than Gixen out there, I am just saying from my, admittedly limited, experience I have not found one that is better, for me, yet. No offense taken, it is entirely right for you to question my impartiality... and in some respects I would like to retain it... I can assure you that I reserve the right to criticise this site when I feel it is justified to do so.
Mark, I would not rush to apologize too quickly for being biased... what nochkin forgot to say here is that he is running one of the competitor sites... he is not really a Gixen user at all, just likes to spend some time here on the forum.

Cupid,
These are just your assumptions and nothing else, right?
There are many users who use different sniping services together and I bet there are few of them who can say that other services just come and go.
Each service has their own perks that could be more or less unique.
For example, maybe your most important perk is to have a simple as possible interface, while others need something different. That's why other services exist. They would simply die if everything was bad.
Goofbay is a good example here of being just different. Not better or worse, just different.
I just googled "ebay bid sniper", "free ebay sniper" and other keywords. I think all snipers I found exist for several years. There are just 1-2 of them only which have issues though.
I know one sniper who switched from free to paid recently, while other free snipers are still free.
I'm not questioning Gixen reliability and good support. I can clearly see Gixen's support is on good level. Not many commercial services have that.
But I was more surprised to see those words from you dude. Your post are always logical and well researched, you give precise and timely advises.
But this message is out of order. I just could not believe that was you.
P.S.: I did not mean to be harsh on you. Sorry if it looked like this, no offense.
Just my 1 cent here. You don't need to answer if you don't feel like, I'm not a registered user anyway :-)

I agree it is there to promote Gixen.
I have looked briefly at a few others over the years, just to see what features they are promoting and it should also be noted that they come and go, it really isn't worth researching sites that are less than a couple of years old as you can not be certain they will even be active in a few months time.
There are also features that are hard to research, like reliability and support that I think actually destinguish Gixen very favourably from other sites but can't really be quantified in a page like the one here.
I am not qualified to criticise the competition, even if I wanted to, but I know there are aspects that continue to make me stear clear of them.

I intend to do research of competition again some day in the future. I agree that that page needs an update.
However, while I do not censor the forum, I reserve the right to choose what's on front pages. After all, they are there to promote Gixen, not competition.

To be fair I don't think many of those even existed when the research for that page was done many years ago... Goofbay did but only started its' sniping service later.
Gixen was really a leader where others have followed in the free sniping arena.
