Thank you Mark for responding instead of me... Yes, deleting those supplied dlls and installing openssl for windows from scratch is the first thing I would try at this point.

It looks like you have all the files in the right place now.
Do you know which version of Windows you are running?
The way I find this out is in Windows Explorer I find ' Computer' I right click on that and select 'Properties' at the bottom of that menu, the Window that comes up as a result has a 'Windows Edition' section near the top, mine says:
Windows Vista Home Premium
Copyright...
Service Pack 2
The thread where this has been discussed most is here:
http://www.gixen.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3526
if you search for 3bmw25ise in that thread you will find their suggestion that a Shortcut with compatability mode set to Windows XP SP3 worked for them.
The other suggestion seems to be to install OpenSSL seperately, Mario provided a link for that in this thread:
http://www.gixen.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4276
I appreciate none of this is easy to do... Do you know anyone that likes playong about with computers that might be able to sit down with you and help ypu?

Post subject: I checked and all the files are just sitting right there
Yep, checked and the files look just like this:
gixen configuration sett
gixen_logo TIF File
DixenDesktopManager application
libeay32.dll application extens
libssl32.dll application extension
ssleay32.dll application extension
the error pops up after you enter the User and Password and enter it.
Dose this give you any ideas?

OK, we have two seperate issues on the same thread, Mario is helping with the problem of having to log into the web interface via the browser when you move about the site.
We also have the Gixen Desktop Manager giving you a 10060 error don't we? I'm afraid I don't know what that is, Mario will need to help us with that too... However, I do know that it does not matter where you put the .exe file, but it does matter that you put all the files that are in the zip file in the same directory on your computer. I sometimes wish I could come round to peoples houses to help them with things like this because it is a lot easier to show people than it is to explain on a Community Forum.
Do you know what version of Windows you are running? I found a post from somone using Windows 7 that had this error and solved it by running the GDM from a shortcut with compatability mode enabled... that might take a while to explain in detail.

Post subject: Install GDM
Followed your instructions opened it in C-programs then ran it. Now I get another error. 10060 I think you might need me to run it some where else maybe desk top?
I am an old lady in my 70s so explain exactly where would be best to open it at.....
Thanks for your help.....

You are right the persistent login is a long standing issue and one that Mrio has promised to look into at some stage. In the mean rime I would suggest opening a new browser tab dor the community when you want to see it rather than using the same tab as you use for your snipes page.
For the GDM what I do after I have the download is move the zip file to where I want to install the GDM (using Windows Explorer drag and drop), then within Windows Explorer I right click on the file and select 'Extract All...' from the drop down menu. Once I have done that I delete the zip file to stop me tying to run the GDM from within it (that does not work in the same way as you describe). Then I find the GixenDesktopManager.exe file in the directory below where I have extracted the files (there are actually three .dll files in that same directory and a couple of other files that are necessary) and to run it I double click on the .exe file.
It will not be anything to do with how long you have been a Mirror subscriber, it should work as soon as you have subscribed.

Post subject: The crazy login login login login
Well, I have another way to get a failed login. One of the links directly to the Community site asks for login and I have been cut and pasting them because of the parkensons. So that added a failed login? You can't go back to the account if you go to community and then try to page back to you auctions.
Why dose the site demand so many logins, even to just look around in the Community? Ebay lets you log in once a day and allows you to remain logged for 24 hours.
I ask only for the handicapped out here in cyber space. It is almost as hard as having to climb steps with no legs in the real world. If there is another way let me know.
I tried the little program for Desk Top Management and it comes up that the libssl32dl file is not able to be used. It wants me to reinstall but every time I have it says the same. When I saw what it kept saying and could not find the libssl32dl copy and paste into where it needed to go from within the zipped file with exe and that came up the same so I just gave up. I wonder if it has something to do with being a new paid user?
I would love to try the Manager, anything to stop the incessent logging in. If I were not sick it would be a lot easier. Wish for the moon.
