Not sure why phpbb tried to use AUTH, but I found that piece of code in phpbb and disabled it. Please let me know if you see any similar problem again, or if forum notifications don't work for you. |

I spoke too soon, that last post produced:
Ran into problems sending Mail. Response: 504 5.3.3 AUTH mechanism LOGIN not available
DEBUG MODE
Line : 126
File : smtp.php
... but as before the post still appeared. |

Yes, I've been getting errors like that when posting here recently, the posts do seem to appear despite the error though... I haven't had any errors today though. |

Seems like I've always heard if you bid on an item the seller can't change the end time.
Why would anyone want to end an auction when there is aggressive bidding going on?
Makes sniping futile if the seller does this.
Sorry about the test posts, I've been getting error messages when trying to post since yesterday. |

I found that out shortly after I posted, but it sure is news to me. |

Sellers can definitely cancel all bids and end auctions early.
They can also end the auction early and sell to the current high bidder at the current auction price, this appears to be what happened in your case.
You would have to ask the the seller why they did it though. |

I believe sellers can end auctions early even with bids placed, just not in the last 12 hours. Someone else can confirm this. |

I thought a seller couldn't end an auction early if you bid on it? An auction I had manually bid on and then scheduled for Gixen ended 3 days early. (Someone won, it wasn't just closed)
Is this allowed? |
