Bidding Error/Failure: Trust and Safety

I recently failed at bidding. Here follows the message:

Ebay item id is : 142704023921 (Leica IIIf) sold by speedex

My Gixen bidding maximum was set on 360.78 and the auction ended at 345.00 (US).

Can it be due to the fact that I had effectuated only one transaction with this Ebay ID? (It's my new ID).
Otherwise I see no problem because I have three other payments done (waiting for the products to arrive).

My advice would be to do a few manual bids on Ebay via this id before scheduling any more snipes.

That way you'll probably discover what it is that Ebay want from you.

It is common for Ebay to want more details soon after you set up a new account, as you have guessed, so, as you suggest, it's best to sort out those issues before using a new id for a lot of automated sniping especially on higher value items.

Thanks. I tried to find out a solution by calling Ebay.
Problem solved only partly.
I had to connect my Paypal account in order to bid.
Now I can bid --but only manually.
However, I still see that the same problem, namely the Safety & Trust problem.

It reoccurred a few minutes ago (Ebay item number: 332572219191)
I need a solution. I still cannot bid via Gixen.

Here is the full message as received from ebay. I would give eBay customer support a call.

"To help protect your eBay account, we sometimes limit the amount of items that can be bid on or purchased by a single account. However, you may be able to increase the limit on your account by verifying some information about yourself."
