What happens when 2 people go after the same item?

What happens when 2 people go after the same auction item and both put in the same 3 second time limit, but the second person has a higher bid price?

Both bids are submitted, assuming both are accepted, the highest one wins but not necessarily at the maximum they are prepared to pay, that is how eBay works.

Adding to what Cupid said..
If the highest snipe is higher for less than bid increment and if accepts it a little bit later, then it will loose even though it's higher.
