So what happens if I were to place a bid on ebay site, then also place a gixen bid? Will the gixen bid trump my ebay bid? Or will gixen know not to outbid myself?

If your snipe is lower than the bid already placed then it is effectively blocked because Ebay will not accept a lower later bid on an account.

If your snipe is higher it will be placed by Gixen at the end of the auction (unless something else stops it being placed like the price having risen to high etc.) however if there are no bids placed that are above your original bid you won't be asked by Ebay to pay any more than you otherwise would have been because that is how Ebay works It is for this reason that Gixen doesn't need to take account of any previous bids made from your account.

This is a strategy often used to remove 'By It Now' or 'Make Offer' buttons from auctions as often they disappear after the first bid.
