My issue is that the number of bids, current bid amount, and status are all wrong.

My maximum bid is $11.11, and the current bid is $30.

Gixen shoes the current bid at $0.14 and status as scheduled.

It SHOULD show $30 and "bid under asking price", while highlighted in yellow.

Item# 352960588983 if that matters

The status should remain as 'Scheduled' until the auction has completed, that is correct.

It looks like the bids that took it up to $30 were earlier this morning. It's never instantaneous for these updates to occur as the resources involved in keeping all snipes, for all users, up to date are considerable, hence it only happening periodically.

I think it happens a bit more often as you reach the end of the auction, so if it's still not updated by this evening that would be an indication that the background process that performs this task might be failing for this item, as you suggest.

The bid was $5, 3 days ago. It surely shouldn't show .14 still yet. And no, Feb the 7th was yesterday. It should be lit up yellow, now, saying BID UNDER ASKING PRICE.

I've had THOUSANDS of bids on here, and this is not typical behavior.

We are probably talking to each other in different time zones, so, yes, I'll concede that yesterday for you could well be earlier today for me.

I agree the updates are not as frequent as usual at the moment, and there have indeed been issues with those updates over the past few days, Mario is working on that, especially for items that are ending soon.

I can assure you that Gixen Status changes only occur when the auction finishes.

Not in my experience, for the last several years. I've always been able to see whether or not my bid was already under asking price, before the auction finished.

Just yesterday, I had one that was a day or so out, lit up in yellow as it should have been. So I just deleted it out of my sight lol.

Yes, they go yellow, but the status doesn't change.

Now we're getting somewhere! The yellow part is one of my complaints. It should be yellow, since yesterday. But it's not.

Yes, I've acknowledged that, Mario is working on the price updates... He has reported elsewhere that he's got them down to once every 4 hours at the moment, but trying to reduce that for items ending soon.

If you have a Windows device you could try the Gixen Desktop Manager, as that uses your own resources to get the updates from Ebay.

Is there a sticky posted somewhere that show us the actual guidelines on how the service operates? Such as the things we're discussing now...

What to expect. What not to expect. Minutes, hours, and days prior behavior.

There is the FAQ tab above, I recommend that everyone reads the whole of that.

There are, no doubt, omissions from it though, I'm sure help and suggestions as to how it can be improved would be gratefully received, as I know they have been over the years.

9 hours remaining, and there have been 19 bids and the current price is $119

Gixen still shows $0.14 and 3 bids.

At around what hour-mark will Gixen start showing the correct information?

Well, I only have one other auction to compare it to right now. So I can't say for certain how other auctions with comparable time-left-to-go would behave.

But as of right now, correct, that one has not updated and my other one has. Below are the times for each one

5 h, 17 m, 27 s = updated
8 h, 29 m, 54 s = not updated

Mario will need to look into why this one in particular is being missed out.

My 30 or so snipes all seem to be being updated regularly now... as usual I'm deleting them as they turn yellow.

30 minutes left, and it still hasn't updated. I have a feeling that if I want this item, I might just need to bid on it manually haha

Well, all the way to the end, it never updated and turned yellow.

So weird, considering I've never had this problem before.

I don't, sorry... only Mario has the access to the system required to investigate at this level.

You can email him directly at the address given on the Contact tab above.

I guess, now that one has ended, he's going to ask for other examples though, and you are the only one posting about this at present.

I guess I'll have to enter an auction that is several days out and see what happens...

I was hoping he would have responded to this, as I saw him on here replying this morning.

Sorry, I saw this too late... however, not sure what the problem was here - if your bid was too low, and Gixen did not reflect that with the more recent price update, there is nothing you would lose here.

The problem is that the price, nor bids, ever updated. And it never turned yellow like it should have, alerting me to being under current bid price.

The reason why I asked is - you said that you may have to bid manually, which makes no sense to me. As I mentioned before - this is a convenience feature that does not affect sniping.

Not sure why that particular item took longer than 4 hours to update. At the moment there are 2 background processes doing price updates, and they take 4 hours or less (each) to go through all the scheduled (active) items to update prices.

It NEVER updated. The item ended without ever upd4ting the price, amount of bids, or turning yellow.

I think what Mario is saying is that the price update doesn't actually affect the sniping function which is an entirely separate process.

So, when the price is not displayed accurately in the Gixen web interface, it doesn't make your snipe more or less likely to win, so long as your price is high enough to do so.

Of course we all accept that it should have updated at some point over the time you were monitoring it, but if your snipe was at your maximum price anyway it made little difference in terms of winning or not.

As you mentioned earlier, generally what you do when they turn yellow is delete them, which is exactly what I do too, which results in a more tidy display of our pending snipes but practically little more ?

Yeah, it's nice to know if I'm possibly going to win it or not. With an upd4ting price and turning yellow. Out of 1000s of auctions, this is the first time I've noticed one behaving as such.

I will find me something else that is several days out and see how it behaves now.
