I input a Gixen bid yesterday for $61.00 on an item - -which was then listed at $46.00. It ended up selling at $46.00 this morning, with my Gixen listing showing that I "BID UNDER ASKING PRICE". The bidding increment was $1.00. I also have Gixen mirror service, so I would think that if the bid was properly placed by Gixen, it would not have shown that. |

Had you placed any manual bids on that item? _________________ Mark |

No - I did not place any manual bids. I only submitted my bid through Gixen. |

In that case Mario will need to do some analysis of the data about this snipe, held on the Gixen server, in order to determine what exactly happened.
If you would like to draw his attention to this thread he can be contacted directly via email at the address supplied on the 'Contact' tab above. _________________ Mark |

I am looking into this. Apparently eBay made some changes that caused this, just not sure yet what kind. |

Same thing here,
item 161825567103 closed this evening at 8:57PM. Ebay shows no bids, (I was stupid and deleted my gixen snipe), but I had a snipe in at $21.something, which was over the $19.99 minimum opening. |

My apology again. I found finally that in some cases this was a result of ebay inserting certain advertisements that contain keywords that were recognized as "bid too low" pages. This is fixed now. |

I sometimes place one manual bid with no higher proxy amount at the start of some auctions for various reasons. If I do this, is my GIXEN snipe bid not going to work? Please clarify. Thanks! |

I too also place bids at the opening price sometimes to remove unacceptable (to me) 'Buy it Now' options that I do not want others to exercise.
If you have already placed a higher (than the snipe amount) bid on Ebay, then Ebay will reject that snipe bid when Gixen tries to enter and the resulting status would be "BID UNDER ASKING PRICE", which is why I posed the question to the OP... I don't understand why anyone would do that though...
So long as your snipe bid is more than the bid already placed then there is as good a chance as any other of that bid being placed by Gixen. _________________ Mark |
