|
|
Hi,
I am not sure if I found a bug or right out use Gixen the wrong way, so here is what happened:
I subscribed to the mirror subscription yesterday and played with the settings a little. I wanted to buy a specific item, so I grouped three auctions for the same make and model of the item. When I finished my setup, all went through without problems and the overview in my snipe's showed the correct parameters (offset of 6 seconds on main and 4 seconds on mirror for each auction) as scheduled. Today I checked my snipe's and the mirror suddenly wasn't scheduled any more. The list showed N/A for the offset value and the schedule indicator instead. This only happened to the items I put into groups, all ungrouped items still showed the correct parameters for main and mirror and the SCHEDULED indication.
I just ungrouped the formerly grouped auctions for the same items and now the mirror settings are back on track again without me doing anything to fix this. For now I will use ungrouped snipers only and check back manually if I won the item I am after to cancel the future auctions then.
It seems like the grouping somehow caused all this. I do not use the group auction feature in eBay (location is Germany) - at least to my knowledge I don't, so I think I can cross the complications between Gixen and eBay group auctions as mentioned in the FAQ from my list of possible cause of error.
What could've caused this?
Best regards and thank you so much for your service - already saved me money!

| I just saw that the auto correction feature of my phone changes \"snipes\" to snipe's automatically. Please read snipes when you see snipe's - sorry for that! ? |

This has always been the case and is by design.
Grouped snipes are never Mirrored.
This is because the primary design is to keep the servers independent of each other... So that if one goes down the other continues independently and is not affected by the loss of the other. Detecting wins cross server and cancelling future snipes as a result is a dependence that contradicts that design.
Normally Mirrored items are also, by definition, replaceable with one another, and that's why this compromise is regarded as acceptable. _________________ Mark |
