Hello,
I have a Gixen account and missed a snipe (both on mirror). I checked the status after auction closed and it is “Invalid Authorization”. What was the problem?
Thanks |

The authorisation that you gave Gixen to submit bids for you on Ebay has either expired or been revoked on Ebay. They expire this after a maximum of 18 months or whenever you change credentials (like your password) on Ebay.
So, at least once every 18 months you need to update that authorisation using the second section on the Settings page. That page is accessed by pushing the 'Settings' button after logging in here with your Gixen credentials. See this blog for some explanatory images:

Item number 316036181936
This is the third time in the last 2 months that after the Gixen reauthorization process, my account on Gixen continues to show invalid authorization. Not sure why this is occurring. Is there a limit per month on snipes that somehow makes my account go to having to auto renew again. I just renewed a month or two ago. Any help is appreciated. Thanks |

There isn't any known limit to the number of uses that you can make of an authorisation and the automatic revocation by Ebay is only after 18 months.
However, Ebay do also revoke authorisations whenever you change a credential on eBay, like your password or user name. That will also be the case when they force you to do so whenever they detect a security risk.
It is also possible for you to manually remove the authorisation whilst logged into the Ebay site, if you know where to look for it. _________________ Mark |
