When you say:

Do you mean that they are executing, but returning the status:

?

Because, most often, the phrase 'not uploading', when applied to a snipe here, would refer to the snipe not ever appearing on the site at all.

So, assuming that is what you mean, sellers can restrict the bidding on their items for a number of reasons, including where you are located, what level of feedback you have, whether you have a credit card registered with Ebay... but the most common one is whether you have had any items cancelled, for non payment (by the seller), in the past 12 months.

It may be that there's a bit more information in the logs on the Gixen server, but only Mario has access to those. So, if you really need him to look at those, it's probably best to email the details direct to him at the support address provided on the Contact page.

Thanks for your reply.

Probably should have said that snipes are not executing - being blocked by Ebay. They are with sellers I have bought from with no issue in the past. I can see that when I look at the bid history and I should have won the auction.

Ebay is accepting manual bids - no problem. I am verified and have a good history regarding payments etc. Location Australia. I think the issue started when I was outside Australia and using a VPN, could this be the issue?

I doubt that it would be a problem for Gixen to place bids on your behalf, especially not if you're still able to place bids manually via their site, that means they haven't blocked your account.

Is it all your snipes that get the 'You are not eligible' status after they complete, or are there other status's too?

.. which is no doubt because your snipe value is less than one bid increment more than the auction price, when the bid is due to be placed by Gixen. If that is not the case please provide an example auction id and the value of your snipe bid.

In some cases I imagine Gixen doesn't even try to place such a bid, when it knows it is going to get rejected anyway because the price is above that level a while before the auction is due to end.

So, let's just concentrate on the ones that have 'You are not eligible to bid on this item' after the auction has completed, because we know that in those cases Gixen has tried to place the bid and that status is due to the response it got back from Ebay when it did so.

Ebay auction number 296521935776 Hess 2000 fire truck

I have never had a problem placing a bid here on Gixen before. I have no idea why I would not be able to bid in this auction. My record on eBay is clean, 100% rating. I have been using gixen for years, maybe 3-4.

Did the message come from the seller? or from eBay in general?

Thanks for any information you can provide.

Linda

Hi Linda,

That one does seem quite odd, since according to the bids page:

https://www.ebay.com/bfl/viewbids/296521935776

it was sold via 'Buy It Now' more than a minute after the auction was due to end, but was also subsequently relisted here:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/296536167654

by the seller.

As to the origins of that status, it would have resulted from the response that Gixen got when it tried to submit the bid to Ebay, a few seconds before the auction was due to end. So, it's as a result of what happened on the Ebay side, once your bid was confirmed with them. That can be the result of a seller imposing restrictions on the auction but it can also be the result of restrictions that Ebay are forced to impose themselves, as a result of local selling regulations... not applicable in this case but, for instance, items categorised as dangerous in certain legislations can't be sold to buyers that reside within the territories where those laws apply.

Since the chronology and history is non standard here, it might be worth asking the seller what they think happened with the original listing, and what they did to end up where we are now, since that might shed some light on why your bid was rejected.
