Hi there,

unfortunately 2 of my snipes came back with this error - UNKNOWN ERROR (3) - although the high bid was less than I offered. Happened yesterday and today.
Using gixen free service, sniping on ebay.de
What could be the problem?
THX

Do you have the Target set to be the German site, on the Gixen Settings page that comes up when you push the 'Settings' button near the top of the page, after you have logged in ?

Ok,

Is this happening for every snipe, as it ends, or just a few of them?

Have you tried placing any manual bids on ebay.de recently?

Well, it happened for the last 2 auctions I added to gixen.

Does it give you more information when you push the 'View Error' button?

Right.

So, it looks like this is exactly the same issue as others have posted about recently with extra Captcha screens being displayed by Ebay, as shown when you push the 'View Error' button, as discussed on the other recent threads, like this one:

http://www.gixen.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8111

and resolved by Mario yesterday.

The only difference being that Gixen is not recognising the page as one requiring a verification code, and setting the status accordingly, when it is presented to it in German.

Just got the (UNKNOWN ERROR (3)) two times today, whats up? When I click on the view error it goes to the ebay sign in window. Both snipes were over the selling price. This is on the US site.

Thanks
Bob

Bob,

There was an issue a few days ago that allowed users to log in with incorrect credentials. Snipes scheduled under the correct credentials would not be visible, but snipes scheduled under the incorrect credentials would fail, sometimes with "unknown error", which is really another login screen Gixen didn't expect.

Please verify your ebay credentials on eBay and then log back in to Gixen. That should resolve the issue.

Hey M,

Not exactly sure what you mean by credentials? Before I posted I did a manual bid with no problem and no extra sign in screen. I did have snipes before / between / and after the two errors all within about 10 minutes. I assume the others were Ok it just says bid under asking price.

Thanks
Bob
PS: my user name is over 10 years old and my last password change was like 6 months ago or so. I guess thats what you mean by credentials?

Bob,

You will need to provide Mario with the Ebay item numbers if you want him to look at specific auctions. If you do not wish to post them here you can revert to email at the support address given on the 'Contact' tab above. Please include your Ebay id in all emails.

I see both are with the same seller, have you ever won any auctions from that seller?

Yes I won 2 things in the last week (before the errors) and 1 thing today from that seller. So now it seems to be working. I just never seen that error before.

Thanks
