HI,
First, thanks for great effort for keeping this service alive. It's really a great help for me.

I use snipers for over 7 years with no problems so far.
6months I started to receive "Unauthorized use of your account -- action required" messages from ebay. I knew it is because snipers and I was just reseting passwords once in a while.
Almost one month ago the horrible happened.
I can not use any sniper at all. I get the "unauthorized .." message immediately after every snipe. I have to reset the password several times a day if I place multiple shots.

I understand it has to be the ebay policy but I am concerned that it seems that no one is having the same problem. I see none complaining about this.

I would like to know if it's only me facing this or there are others?

Thanks

Are your snipes actually failing here on Gixen... or are you getting successful snipes but then emails from Ebay demanding that you change your password after the event?

If this is the case then it does sound like you are the first to report such behaviour by Ebay.

Is your home site different from the target that you have set for your snipe bids to be sent to by Gixen, on the 'Settings' page?

I see you say you use 'snipers', plural... do you use other sniping software at the same time as using Gixen?.. I imagine that, these days, spreading your sniping activity across multiple sites is more likely to cause issues than sticking with only one that works for you.

If your snipes are failing here on Gixen, what status are they being given after the auction completes?

In such circumstances it may be beneficial for you to enable the Gixen socks proxy in your browser, in order to be able to subsequently verify your Ebay account against the Gixen server. Others have been successful in removing Ebay blockages that way.

I just received another email from a customer who had that issue, and we were able to resolve it with use of Gixen's socks proxy. His snipes are working fine again. Please email me.

Thanks for quick reply.

After encountering this issue I tried to use different sniper softwares but all of them get me the same result. Never used them simultaneosly.

The snipes work fine. The account gets blocked if the bid is entered, either I win the listing or not. When the account is accesed from any other computer than mine, it gets blocked after several minutes.

The home page is set for ebay.de as 70% of my snipes are on it but I get the same behaviour for items listed on all sites.

I remember I tried the Gixen socks proxy several months ago and it didn't worked. Maybe I did something wrong, I will give it a try again.

Thanks

HI,
Thank you very much for your help.
It's seems that the proxy settings work fine for me. It's been 2 days and everything is fine.

I have another question now, I don't think it's related to the previous problem but I think it's a quick fix so I don't want to open another topic.

I lost 5 consecutive auctions (my snipped price was higher than winning bid).
Status says : ENDED (AUCTION END TIME CHANGED)

I've searched the forum but didn't find any details. Hope someone could explain what this means so I could avoid it in the future.

Thanks

That status usually means that the seller ended the auction before the snipe was due to be placed. Sellers sometimes do that when they have no bids close to the end of the auction and decide the price is lower than their expectations.

If you would like someone to look into it further please provide example auction numbers.

I am sure this isn't the case. The auctions ended and items were sold. It happened to 5 last snipes that were consecutive and from different sellers. I assume it may be a problem at Gixen. I just want to know if I can do something to avoid it in future.
Here are some examples:

In that case, if you got the same status [ENDED (AUCTION END TIME CHANGED)] on both the Main and Mirror tabs then it would seem like something Mario should look into... It may be that Gixen is misinterpreting an Ebay page that has been changed.

UPDATE: Mario informs me this is now fixed... Apparently German Ebay decided to change their terminology for the month of March.
