Could an option for eBay Reserve Auctions be added that would submit the maximum Gixen bid entered be incorporated?

Gixen already does submit the maximum bid... the fact that you often do not have to pay that much is because the way Ebay works you never have to pay more than one bid increment more than the next highest bidder.

So there really isn't anything different that the Gixen software needs to do to handle reserve price auctions (except recognise the situation where the reserve is not met).

So, if the reserve is not met after Gixen has placed your bid that means that the reserve price was above your maximum bid.

My experience has been that Gixen bids the incremental amount above the current bid.

What you see as a price on Ebay is not necessarily the bid that was placed.

Ebay only displays the auction price which is the second highest bidders maximum bid plus one bid increment. The highest bid could be much higher than that.

Gixen does not need changing to handle reserve auctions, if your bid is above the reserve you will win (provided no-one else has a bid accepted for an even higher amount), if your bid is below the reserve you will not win and the seller will not be able to tell how much you were willing to pay, only the final auction price.
