The losing bid of US $16.90 on that auction, according to Ebay, was placed 5 seconds before the end of the auction.

Was that your bid ?

Also note that it is the highest offset that you set that dictates when your bid will be placed in the vast majority of instances, the lowest offset is your backup should that first bid fail to be placed. Lowering the offset of your backup will only make any difference in the case where the server that you have asked to place the earliest bid fails to do so.

I'm having an issue with bids I place with Gixen. I'm almost always using the desktop client installed on my computer, so I don't know if that is the issue or not. Anyhow, my problem is that my bids from Gixen are being submitted hours before an auction ends, not seconds. Sometimes it is just 10 or 20 minutes before the auction ends, and sometimes it is hours, it makes no sense at all. As a result, I lose many of the Gixen bids I place because they are placed too soon.

Any ideas on why this would happen? I am a subscriber and have a current annual subscription to the mirror service, which I always use, and I usually have the MAIN bid set for 6 seconds before, and the mirror to 4 seconds before. I recently changed that to 2 seconds for the mirror, but haven't placed any bids with that one yet.

The last example would be this item:
ebay.com/bfl/viewbids/264675083972

There are a few more, but I can't recall which auctions I used Gixen with. After it kept happening I just gave up using the program and went with old style biding.

Thanks in advance.
