| If you look at the bottom of the bids page you can see that a bid of US $725.00 was retracted with 1 second to go in this auction, hence when your bid was due to be placed the price was above what you were willing to pay. This is known as bid shielding, I would report it to Ebay as such if my bid had been denied for this reason.
If you look at the account that placed that retracted bid you get this history: 30-Day Summary Total bids: 16 Items bid on: 16 Bid activity (%) with this seller: 6% Help Bid retractions: 15 Bid retractions (6 months): 107 which shows that this behaviour is consistent for that account. This is nothing like the second example you refer to in your second post, why did you think there is something in common with it ? |
