You need to have a Mirror subscription in order to set the offset yourself.

An alternative is to set your snipe to an odd amount, like 20.01 as that can increase your chances in cases like this and only costs you an extra penny or so when you do.

eBay rules specify that if two bidders bid the same amount, then the first bidder wins. If somebody bid $20 and your bid of $20 is made later, then your bid will be rejected by eBay since it is less that $20 + the bid increment.

That is why some bidders set their offset on Gixen to be longer since doing so increases your chance of winning in the case someone bids the same amount as you.

I bid $20 and was outbid by winning bidder who won it for $20. How did that happen? I could see if the bidder bid say $21 and won the item.
