The difference between a recurring payment and a non recurring payment is that a recurring payment will repeat at the end of he period automatically, until you manually cancel that recurring payment. This process ensures that your service is never downgraded, unless you take action to ensure that it does.

A non recurring payment will never repeat and you have to manually make another payment at the end of the period you've paid for otherwise you will loose the benefits that the payment entitled you to at the end of the payment period.
