The new switches do seem to have resolved this issue... at least they have for me.
Please let me/us know if that is not the case universally. |

This is true, it's only the forum that's affected. The hosting provider of this location will be updating their switches in a few days - I will wait for this to see if it resolves the issue before moving forum away.
Both main and mirror are elsewhere, so sniping is not affected by this. |

Yes, that has been happening for a few weeks now... Mario is aware of the issue of connecting to the database that contains only the posts and, I believe, has a plan in place to migrate it to a new more accessible location in the near future.
Fortunately, I am also led to believe that, this database is the only aspect of the site that is currently affected and that the more important function of entering/scheduling snipes, updating snipes and submitting bids to Ebay in the last seconds of the auctions are not affected by this issue. |

FYI, the forums are returning the following to about 50% of requests:
