The two servers act independently of each other, by design... so that there is no interdependence that could decrease reliability.
So both try to place the bid for you... if one gets there first the other is blocked by Ebay because Ebay does not allow you to place the same bid twice.
There is no recommendation, that is why they are options for you to set... if there were an agreed best strategy then it would make sense to remove the options and hard wire the offset values. |

As a subscriber, I feel it would make sense to set the timing (in seconds) for my main bidder and my mirror bidder to different values.
Eg. Main bids at 6sec, and if this fails, Mirror set to bid at 4sec has time to realize Main has failed.
If Mirror was set to 6sec as well, by the time it realizes Main has failed its too late - it can no longer submit 6sec before auction end.
Couldn't find a FAQ on this; is there a previous forum thread that explains or recommends an approach? |
