This is the term used here on Gixen for the amount of time in seconds before the auction finishes that the bid is to be sent to Ebay.

They are options for you to set because there is no ideal time and no consensus amongst the users about this.

Personally I prefer a larger offset than the default 6 seconds because that is what works best for me, because I am often bidding on auctions were other people are also sniping.

I also prefer both servers to try to place the bids at the same time, others like them to be different so that they never see two bids on an auction which can indicate to some that sniping software is in use, but I have never found that to be an issue with a seller.

Please tell me what offset times mean. Sorry if I missed somewhere in the FAQ. What is the ideal offset and I have both versions of Gixen so should the offset be the same on both.
