I usually have over 100 to 200 auctions listed, many 5 or 6 days out. I am only interested in updates for auctions ending in the next hour or less. Desktop Manager, checking all of the actions slows down the software. I always use the variable option. Maybe I am overloading the software, as even items ending in less than 2 minutes will not update until an average of 40 seconds AFTER the auction has ended. The program continues to update all of the auctions even after 5 minute or 2 minute items come up. ***** Being able to select "the time till end" would make this a very valuable software and be of great use. | The only thing that affects speed is how often price refresh is made. Option "Variable" is probably the best, as prices are refreshed once every 5 minutes, but more often as they are closer to auction end - once every minute if only half an hour or less is left, and continuously if less than 2 minutes left. | |

In that you are usually only interested in outbids coming close to "Time To End", an option to select how far out you display "Time To End" items would be great. This would speed up refresh and make this a better tool, as fewer items would need to be checked. When I am looking at a lot of items, I do NOT even use Gixen Desktop Manager, as it gets delayed and bogged down. :idea: |
