The bid increments for Australian dollars are here:

which indicates the increment was 10 AUD in this case.

The explanation of their use is exactly the same as on the US site as Mario has already posted.

Bid increment in that price range is $5. See http://pages.ebay.com/help/buy/bid-increments.html and you will understand.
