It doesn't, I always have a maximum that I am wiling to pay, I calculate my snipe value by subtracting the cost of shipping on the listing (or that the seller tells me).

Gixen submitted your maximum bid, however ebay proxy system determines how much you end up paying, and that depends on other bidders as well. So it's quite normal that you end up paying less than your maximum bid.

Thanks for the response. I just ended up winning my first bid with Gixen and came across something. I entered my Gixen bid amount of $325.83 while the bid was at $300 with about 5 minutes to go. I somehow ended up winning with a bid price of $305 (plus the $24.95 shipping, I don't know how Gixen takes shipping in to account). I am in now way complaining since I won the bid for a lower price I am just curious as to why Gixen bid $305 and not $325.83? Thanks

It will bid your maximum amount, however the eBay bidding system ensures that you only pay a maximum of one bid increment more than the next highest bidder.

Suppose I want to have my maximum bid set at $200. The current bid for the item is $100. If no one else bids from then on until the end of the auction will Gixen put in my bid of $200 or would it bid incrementally like to $105 or $110?
