If you right click on the short-cut it brings up a menu from which you can select 'Properties', this brings up a window in which you can change things.

Check that you have write access to the directory specified as 'Start In' and if you don't change it, you must also have the .dll files that come with the application in that directory so it is best to set it to the directory that has the GixenDesktopManager.exe file in it.

I am running it from a shortcut on the desktop. What should I do to correct the problem?

I'd suggest putting it somewhere else, it does not need to be associated with any browsers software.

Perhaps you installed it with an administration id but are running it with an id with lower permissions on your computer?

Alternatively, are you running it from a short-cut? If so you may have the 'Start in' directory set to somewhere that you do not have write permission.

I use Windows 7 and I have downloaded Gixen Desktop Manager. It works well but doesn't seem to save an ini file despite me allowing write permission to C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\GixenDesktopManager\ where it is stored. Consequently it doesn't remember my login details. Any ideas?
