The bid increment rule applies on all eBay sites and to a currencies.

If your bid is not at least one bid increment above the current auction price when Gixen tries to place your bid then it will be rejected by eBay, and because of this it is possible for another bidder to win an auction with a bid that is slightly less than yours.

It is for this reason that I use larger offsets so that my bid is placed before some other snipers and is thus more often accepted because the auction price is less likely to have risen to within one increment of my bid.

It is not a usual occurrence though, it only happens when your bid is only a little above the current price.

using Gixen successfully so far, since another bid app is not supported any more. The following has nothing to do with Gixen thou.
Today i saw someone has won an item, but his bid was lower than mine.
This is something that happened to me for the first time at all.
This refers to the ebay terms, saying a bid has to be higher a certain amount as the current bid.
i have about 300 successful bids since the last years without such an issue.
At least, the winning bid should higher than mine, no?
I am bidding in Germany,and i dont know if terms are different here.
as mentioned above, what im wondering about is, that i never had this situation before.
I guess that these terms only occur in USA.......
