Gixen will enter your maximum bid (30$), and then ebay will do the rest with proxy bidding. You will end up paying 22$ (or just above) if that was second highest bidder's bid.
In other words, Gixen does exactly the same you would do yourself manually, just at the last moment. Ebay always uses proxy bidding.

I am a bit confused about placing a "bid." Is the bid that I enter on Gixen my final bid, or is it a maximum bid? Let's say I am bidding on an ebay item that is currently at $20. I am willing to spend $30 on that item so I enter a $30 bid on Gixen. The highest competing bid near the end of the auction ends up being only $22. Will Gixen enter a bid for me that is just higher than $22, or will it automatically enter my original bid of $30?
