I would add that sellers are allowed to "unlist" an item no matter how many bids it has and how many hours to go.
Sellers can't make changes when there are bids or item is running for long time (or when it's about to end).

Like Cupid said, I place a small bid to take out BIN (I personally stopped putting BIN for my own auction for the same reason :) ) basically.

Last I checked, sellers are allowed to make certain changes or even unlist an item if there are more than 24 hours to go and there haven't been any bids, yet. So if you were worried about that, you could place a low bid to lock in the terms of the auction.

It is possible that gixen may enter a bid that is higher than one you have already placed HOWEVER, provided this is done from one eBay account, eBay does not increase the auction price as a result so you have no need to worry.

That said, the only point that I can see for doing this is to place a low bid to knock out a BIN and then a snipe to ensure wining.

Hello,
Is there a risk to bid "against" oneself when bidding for the same item on Gixen and on eBay? Many thanks.
