I don't remember seeing a "1" in the bids. If there had been another bidder on the hunt I wouldn't have been as surprised about losing the item. My only thought, at the time, is that I may loose it to someone else because of a low bid.
Well, I am human and Gixen is not, so I will have to chalk this up to my own error in perception.
However, should I see such a scenario develop again: last hours of auction and no bids showing, bid on Gixen loaded, I think I will do a couple of screen dumps for my own sanity. |

My guess is that when you checked, the item was showing 1 bid at 0.99 (the starting bid). This would be normal behavior: redlady82 put in a bid of at least $6.50, but the showing bid stayed at $0.99 until you came along and bid $6.00, at which time the showing bid was updated to one increment above your bid, namely, $6.50. |

(300195772266) Item lost on ebay auction.
Bid history shows the winning bid being posted on 2/7/08? Yet when I checked the item, and verified my Gixen bid amount at 14:00 on 2/8/08, the item was showing 0 bids at 0.99 so.... what could allow someone to enter a last second bid that shows up in the bid history as being from a day earlier? Ebay message said I was outbid at last minute?
From this--- earlier today
Current price: $0.99
End time: Feb-08-08 16:25:43 PST
to this (in the bid history)
US $6.50 Feb-07-08 04:55:49 PST |
