Did you notice, in the situation where you were sent the email indicting that you bid might be too low, whether or not the snipe was highlighted in yellow on the snipes page ?

Post subject: Bid under asking price message Buy Now option added
The start price was $10 and the seller later added a Buy Now option of $30 which was above my snipe. I received a Bid under asking price message showing the current price of $30. I looked at the item and it still had the $10 start price. I deleted the snipe and added it again and it was OK showing the $10 start price. I wonder if the original snipe would have failed in that situation.
