No problem :). As for the message - it's cumbersome - I don't have enough space where to fit such a message.

Post subject: allow VRL in Add New Snipe -> eBay Item Number Field?
Wow, this works!
I was wishing for this yesterday when I was adding to a group snipe, but I hadn't checked the forum.
It's not obvious that this feature is available, you could change the form to say "enter eBay Item Number or VRL:" as a que.
Thanks for adding this!

This has been done now - entering URL instead of item id should work fine.

thanks, Mario!
notchkin - I am mainly looking to speed things up on my mobile phone, because yes sometimes I am 50 miles from civilisation and desiring to set up a snipe for an item that just appeared!

This shouldn't be difficult to do - just remind me in couple of weeks if you don't see it made.

You don't need to be precise on Windows machine -- just double-click on the number.

Post subject: allow UURL in Add New Snipe -> eBay Item Number field?
[the word "UURL", with single letter U, is considered spam by this bulletin board system; forgive the munging]
I have a feature request. I would like to be able to put the item's UURL into the "eBay Item Number" field when adding a new snipe.
I find it easier to get the UURL onto the clipboard than just the number, because it's easy to grab from the title bar (CTRL+A CTRL+C) or a referring page such as My eBay items I'm watching/bidding (right click and "copy link location" in Firefox). Getting just the number itself involves some precision highlighting. In fact, on my mobile phone, getting just the number is one Hell of an exercise, while getting the URL is straightforward.
I believe this would be an easy feature to implement on the server side - as far as I can tell, the item number is the only thing in the UURL that matches "12 consecutive digits", and should be straightforward to extract.
this'll save me a lot of time, as well as cut down on errors in the number being entered. How 'bout it, Mario?
thank you!
