An alternative is to use the Gixen Desktop Manager... the prime function of that is to provide real time updates on the price of the auction without impacting the Gixen servers, that information is obtained direct from Ebay using your own computers resources.

The bottom line is that gixen is a bididng service - not an auction monitoring service. When using the gixen web site it only rarely updates the status of current bids in your snipe listings. It
may
show an update that indicates the current bid price is higher than your snipe bid amount. But it does not aggressively monitor snipes, searching for changes in the current highest bid. If you want to check the current status of any item bid more in real time you need to do that externally at eBay.
