The account that retracted the bid has this statistic:
Bid retractions (6 months): 201
So it would appear that the account is being used consistently for bid shielding.
But if no-one is reporting it to Ebay, the behaviour will, no doubt, continue.
They would appear to be making good money from the practice.

Also, just to clarify:Gixen
did
place your bid, and the appropriate response you received was "bid under asking price" in context of that $320.00 bid that got there first but was subsequently retracted after the auction ended. You may not have scrolled down far enough - the retraction is shown at the very bottom of the bid history. It was placed at 19:37:17 PST.
As Mario said you could ask the seller to relist because of the bid retraction but it appears they accepted the last good bid before the retraction and went with that. They really should have relisted. You may not have been the only person whose bid was rejected for being too low in context of the $320.00 retracted bid.

This auction had a retracted bid of $320 that prevented your bid from being placed.
You should contact the seller and ask him to re-list - he has every right to do so.

Post subject: Status says 'Bid Under Asking Price', but this is not tru
I recently lost a bid on 292012283043. The status says 'Bid under asking price'. However, my asking price was $250, and the final bid was $212.50. I checked the bidding page, and the last bid was placed at Feb-01-17 19:37:11 PST for an auction ending Feb-01-17 19:53:57 PST. No bids were placed for me. This means that gixen sat for 15 mins on my bid, and did nothing. Also, I did not change password or user info. I am a first time user, is there something I'm missing here?
