Why am I getting this error msg while attempting to add an item to my bid list?

Could not add this item (253026311630)(1, -1).

no explanation and as far as I can see, there is no mention of error codes and what they mean in the program

You can't add it because it is a Buy It Now only item, you can't snipe those.
