This is normal - the bid will jump straight to other bidder's maximum + bid increment (if your max bid is higher).

Why wasn't the next increment bidded? Why did it go straight to the max bid amount?
Thanks

Post subject: What in the world happened?
I put in a max bid of $950. Offset set to 3 default.
A. I got my bid in before the winner (see screenshot)
B. Instead of bidding the next highest increment, gixen bid me all the way straight up to my max bid!

Am I doing something wrong?
